PELICULAS FILMADAS EN DURAMGO MEXICO

La historia del cine en Durango se remonta al año 1898 cuando se filma la primera "vista" por parte de los agentes de Edison, titulada "Un tren llegando a Durango". Varias escenas captadas por cámaras ambulantes de los circos y alguno que otro aventurero, resaltan los sucesos de la época, pero son realmente los personajes de la segunda década del siglo XX los que destacan en el ambiente cinematográfico 

Quizás el personaje más importante por su trascendente promoción es John Wayne, legendaria actor que filmó siete películas en Durango "Los Hijos de Catie Elder", "Lucha de Gigantes" (War Wagon), "Los invensibles" (The Undefeated), "Chisum Rey de Oeste", "Big Jake, Gigante entre los Hombres", "Los Chacales del Oeste" (Train Robbers) y "Cahill de su Propia Sangre" realizadas entre 1965 y 1973. La generosidad de John Wayne hacia las escuelas de los lugares que filmaba, propició que el H. Ayuntamiento de la capital de Durango lo nombrara Huésped Distinguido el 8 de junio de 1969. A principios de los 70´s, John Wayne adquirió el "Rancho La Joya" mismo que adaptó como set cinematográfico del oeste y filmó en el las dos últimas películas que realizara en Durango, fue uno de los principales promotores de Durango a nivel internacional.

Durango ha sido anfitrión de los mejores estudios cinematográficos del mundo como la Paramount, Miramax, la 20th Century Fox, la Columbia Pictures, entre otros para producir sus películas en nuestros escenarios. Esta última década se han filmado importantes películas como "La Máscara del Zorro", "Blue Berry" , "Texas Rangers","Bandidas" y "Dragonball Evolution" basada en el manga de Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball. estreno en Estados Unidos al 10 de abril de 2009

Durango ofrece escenarios espectaculares y paisajes cinematográficos de una belleza única, es por eso que miles de técnicos, actores, productores y directores que han trabajado en Durango confirman que es un lugar ideal para filmar.

Francisco "Pancho" Villa, puede decirse, es el primer actor nacido en Durango que incursiona ante las cámaras de Hollywood, al ser contemplado por la Mutual Film Corporation para que permita filmar las batallas de Ojinaga, Torreón y Zacatecas. El trabajo es encargado al joven Raúl Walsh quien llegaría a ser uno de los directores más importantes del cine norteamericano, además el mismo Walsh interpretaría al joven Villa en la cinta dirigida por Christy Cabanne en 1914.

La década de los 50´s marca el inicio de la industria del cine comercial en Durango. Buscando locaciones para un western, el director de arte Jack Smith sobrevuela Durango y localiza un paisaje interesante en los alrededores del poblado "La Ferrería", en donde pocas semanas después, el 20 de julio de 1954 iniciaría el rodaje de la película americana "White Feather" (Pluma Blanca), conocida en México como "La Ley del Bravo", con producción de 20th Century Fox. Serían Robert Wagner, Jeffery Hunt y Debra Paget quienes llevarán los papeles principales.

También es importante en ese tiempo, la presencia del rey de Hollywood, Clark Gable, quien filma "The Tall Men" (Caras de Ambición). Hollywood enfoca su mirada en Durango, con importantes producciones y directores de primer nivel como John Huston. En los 60´s las producciones extranjeras se intensifican y sólo algunos productores mexicanos vendrían a esta Tierra del Cine.

Durango se ve invadido, literalmente, por las luminarias de Hollywood y en las calles se ven personajes como: Charlton Heston, James Coburn, Nick Noltie, Richard Harris, Dean Martín, Anthony Quinn, Charles Bronson, Gleen Ford, Shelley Winters, Ernest Borgnine, Robert Mitchum, Rock Hudson y estrellas del cine nacional como: Pedro Armendáriz, David Reynoso, Carlos López Moctezuma, Julio Alemán, la familia de Anda, Jorge Rusek, Sonia Furió, Isela Vega, sólo por mencionar algunos de los más de 1500 actores, técnicos, productores y directores que han trabajado en Durango
